So, i've been down quite the road lately in my personal artistic venture as of late. I started painting, like, with real paint. I tried to paint this damn cardinal at least 4 times, without having any success. Although, it always looked like a cardinal, and a few times I came close. Once, i even nailed it. Then proceeded to overwork it. I tried guys, i watched countless youtube videos on mixing paint, and working colour. I realized, i just didn't know colour. So here I am, learning colour digitally. Mainly, because it's cheap, familiar, and I'm newly unafraid to try something new with it. After spending money on real paints, the true freedom of digital work becomes apparent. Grabbing my tablet, and doing some reading on colour theory I redid my cardinal painting, but in photoshop. For an extra challenge, I limited myself to using nearly only the magnetic lasso tool. I'm actually quite happy with the result, and i feel confident in the direction I am headed.
Good luck with your creative endeavours folks!
